Q. Do you support all operating systems?

A. We will try and assist in any computer related matters; however, we support Windows 2000, Windows XP and Vista.

 

Q. What are security patches?

A. When operating systems and software are released there are often security flaws that hackers exploit that allow them to 'take over' your computer. As these exploits are found, security patches are released to address them and must be applied immediately.

 

Q. I have anti-virus software, surely I am safe from security problems?

A. Anti-virus and spyware programs are good but it is essential that they are regularly updated. Once a week is not enough, if there is a major attack it is essential for updates to be done immediately otherwise you are likely to be infected.  As well as this, anti-virus software does not protect your computer from operating system and software security flaws.

 

Q. What software do you support?

A. We support a wide range of PC software including Microsoft Office, itunes and Picasssa.

 
Q. How do I decide which type of membership to buy?

A. An annual subscription is the cheapest membership option, costing £99.99 per annum for one computer. For home users the cost is £49.90 per annum for each subsequent computer, up to a maximum of  four. For businesses additional computers cost £79.90 per annum.

The next cheapest option is the monthly subscription at £9.99 per month for one computer.

Q. Are there any other costs?

A. No, but zuuAssist reserve the right to terminate or charge extra (with the customer's permission) annual or monthly subscribers who we feel are abusing the support service.

 
Q. Do I have to have broadband to use your service?

A. It is not necessary to have broadband, however, in order for zuuAssist to continually monitor and update your security patches it is necessary to have broadband otherwise updates will be sporadic. If you only have dial-up you can also still benefit from the free support time offered in the Monthly and Annual subscriptions.
